Thinking about some Dooms Day Prepping?

2/10/2021

Let’s face it, 2020 was a pretty rough year. A lot of last year’s events have probably gotten you thinking about some things that you may never have thought about before. Some of us may have conjured up images of Mad Max and The Walking Dead as we have watched some of the events unfold on the news, but we don't want to focus on that. So, let’s have some fun and let’s think about how best to prepare for a Doom’s Day scenario.
  • Start learning new things. Having resources and knowledge of survival skills will come in handy. Things like gardening and preserving food, building shelters, purifying water, perhaps beekeeping. Learning to live off the land can be an asset. This knowledge can make you a valuable resource to others, when the end of the world bartering system comes into place.
  • Stay healthy. The more you take care of yourself, the better off you’ll be. Get in shape, eat better. This can make you more agile for the coming apocalypse and have the benefit of staving off heart disease. Figure out the best way to survive without your medicine. It’s gonna be hard to find those prescriptions some of us need… You know what, find a doctor to be your survival buddy, they can handle this aspect. This brings us back to the first item, having a valuable skill to provide in return for having a medical expert be a part of your end of the world crew.
  • Figure out an energy source. The end of the world, doesn’t mean you have to go back to the dark ages. We have modern technology that can get you through on your own. Solar power, wind power, heck, even a bike powered generator (keeps you in shape and provides power). Again, learning new things. Let’s add these to the list.
  • Be Secure. Fortify that house of yours. Make sure your locks are in good working order. To keep others out while you’re holed up in your house, and in the meantime when you’re not home. But who are we kidding, it’s 2020, you’re probably at home anyhow! But it doesn’t hurt to keep all your security items properly functioning. If you’re feeling really ambitious start collecting wood, for when you need to board up those windows.
So if the world ends, you’ll be that much more prepared. And when it doesn’t and we can all be together again, we’ll have a good time discussing all the places our minds have wandered to during the pandemic.

Bonus: These can also be good tips if you’re thinking about new lifestyle activities, so either way, we hope you enjoyed this fun post.
